Becoming a Better Originator - Going to the next level
Class Overview
This
class is presented for the mortgage professional who spans an
experience level of 6 months & up or a student who has previously
taken our Mortgage Fundamentals class. It is expected that the student
arrive with a competent understanding of the basic mortgage
industry and/or have previously completed the Mortgage Fundamentals class.
The information presented in the class will begin with an overview
of RESPA. Since this topic can be quite in depth we have allotted
a large block of time to address it a comprehensively as possible
as permitted. After the morning break, the students will learn
the basic requirements for certification by the correct agencies
for full and mini eagles in order to provide government loans
to their clients. The morning session is completed with a question
and answer period for as long as the students have questions.
Normally this will last between 15 to 30 minutes. We have scheduled
in a buffer time period of 15 minutes between 11:45 and 12 noon
to allow for this Q & A period to fluctuate.
After
a lunch period where the student is on their own, we resume the
class promptly at 1:00pm with a discussion of disclosures, compliance
and HMDA. A complete discussion of these forms and terms will
take the class to the afternoon break at 2:15. After the break,
the class resumes with a discussion of yield spread premiums and
how to become more profitable. At this time we might also try
to touch on how rates are determined in the marketplace. The final
topic of the day will be an overview of automated underwriting
and the forces behind that move in the industry. A final Q &
A session will round out the class that will dismiss at 4:00pm.
