Mike Mackey started his career in business over thirty years ago by enrolling in a
loan officer training program with a Savings & Loan in East Texas. He worked the teller line, handled vault work, and audit functions, as well as originating loans. He was recruited by another S&L to become manager of their largest branch out of 16 branches where he continued his career. After a period of time he started his own company providing computer consulting and training for consumers of all types. A friend knew of his mortgage experience and asked him to join a Dallas based mortgage company in charge of the lending division and supervising eight loan officers as well as three processors.
The opportunity presented itself to provide training for
Calyx Software and Point for Windows during the fall of 1998. Since that time, Mike quickly become nationally recognized as a premier trainer. He currently or has previously held certifications from
Calyx, PushMX, Fannie Mae, Desert Documents, Digital Documents and is negotiating to become the exclusive trainer for two other software firms. Additionally, Mike needs only to sit for his exam to become a Microsoft Certified Professional. At one time, Mike had trained more students on Point than any other trainer in the country. In the last nine years, he and his staff have trained over
55,000 students from Boston to Honolulu and Minneapolis to Miami.
In his spare time, Mike is a contributing author for several magazines and has had acting roles on commercials and Walker, Texas Ranger which was filmed near his home in Dallas/Fort Worth. He is married and has three children, all who have started careers on their own.
